Okay, so apparently I haven't gained anything in the last 2 weeks! Don't know HOW that's possible given that I've been majorly craving sweets...and steak (but that's another post). I made the apple cake I posted a few days ago AND this chocolately peanut butter goodness this very week. Granted, half of each is being shared elsewhere, but still!
You gotta' try this:
4 eggs
2 c. sugar
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. peanut butter
1 1/2 c. mini chocolate chips
1. Beat eggs until thick and lemony. Add sugar, milk and vanilla and mix well.
2. Mix flour, baking powder and salt separately, then add to egg mixture.
3. Pour into greased 9 x 13 pan and bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes, or until middle is set.
4. Let cool for a few minutes, then add dabs of peanut butter over top and spread when they soften a bit over the warm cake. (If you try to spread the PB right away, you'll tear up the top of the cake.)
5. Sprinkle the mini chocolate chips over top of the PB in an even layer. (You could use chocolate frosting instead, but should wait until the cake is completely cool before spreading.)
CHOCOLATE...PEANUT BUTTER...WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE?!

So good - that's one of my all-time favorite recipes!
you are KILLING me! I am going to gain 10 more pounds these last 3 weeks if you keep posting recipes like this!!! =)
I left out a minor detail with the Jewish Apple Cake! You need to slice the apples ;-) Make sure they're thinly sliced, and not layered too thick or the batter won't bake through!
Haven't made this cake in years. Don't know why. I love it!
Yummy! I have always loved these but never had the recipe. THank you! Any suggestions on how to cute them? At room temp. the chocolate cracks when I cut them. Did you cut them soon after you put the chocolate on?

Sadly, I never noticed your recipe box label till today. My husband would love this!
