Promises

I love Spurgeon! A good friend from our previous church/caregroup gave me Spurgeon's Morning and Evening as a going away gift last August. She knew I had been wanting a copy and I was so blessed by her thoughtfulness.

This morning, I was encouraged to hold God to His word.
"God doesn't give His words merely to quiet us, and to keep us hopeful for awhile with the intention of putting us off at last; but when He speaks, it is because He means to do as He has said."

Thank you Lord...
that your mercies are new every morning,
that you are faithful, though I am faithless,
that you will quiet my anxious heart as I
surrender my plans/desires and trust in You,
that you ALWAYS have my best in mind,
that You've given me EVERYTHING I need for life and godliness,
that you will use my trials and tests of faith to produce
perseverance...

What promises are you holding God to lately?

My pastor's wife in MD LOVES all things Spurgeon. Thanks for starting my morning with a reflection on God's wonderful promises. He is SO good!

The same one I've been holding to for many years - that I and my household shall be saved.
