Gotta' question for all you recent moms out there. Anyone have anything to say about Belly Bands? Supposedly you can extend the life of your normal clothes by putting these around your waist to cover up loosened pants. Sounds good to me right now because though I'm not really showing yet, I really feel uncomfortable with things that sit at my waist. Are these band thingies something you'd recommend? And where can I find one without spending a ton?
On another note, but still baby related, our newest resident is the size of a grape this week and has lost his/her tail! Whoo hoo! :-) The four chambers of the heart are forming as are the valves. My 1o week appointment is next week so it will be exciting to once again hear the heartbeat.
Now, I'm just hoping and praying that this upcoming weekend's festivities will smell and taste good to me...and that I'll have energy to visit with all the family we plan to see.

Belly bands didn't work for me at all. They kept slipping, rolling, and being annoying. Although some women swear by them! I'd say get one and try it out!
Don't forget, I've got your bouncer!
Try a rubber band...free and likely just as comfortable (or not). :)
And, the pulling all your clothes off is a normal thing from my experience...just another opportunity to teach social appropriateness. :)
I have one but didn't discover the band until my 8th month. I didn't want to buy anymore pants. An at that point, nothing rolled down
I tried the rubber band thing but as soon as I bent forward it pressed into my belly. I had no tolerance for anything causing pressure from about one month on.
I liked the pants at motherhood that have the wide band at the top. They were comfortable and kept things looking nice and smooth.
I guess now they have one with an even "taller" band, which would have been nice. NOT to be confused with the belly pocket.
If you can wait until June, I'll give you my belly band. It's white
That's funny that you should ask this question, since this is something I am still quite familiar with, being only two weeks postpartum! I loved my bella band. I used it during both of my pregnancies, and I'm still using it now to hold up pants that are a little too big.
I am not a fan of maternity pants, so this little invention was a lifesaver for me! With this last pregnancy, I was able to still squeeze into my black dress pants when I was 8 months pregnant, wearing my bella band. I did have some problem with it riding up a bit, but overall, I would recommend it. I just bought mine online doing a google search for bella band, but if you can borrow one, even better! Good luck!
yay!!! i hadn't stopped by your blog in a while. Congratulations!! =) Wish we lived closer so we could share the fun together.
I didn't have one, but I know some people really like them. Shoot, this time of year, you just need to get some cute cotton, stretchy skirts, and some palazzo pants. I love those now, but they were GREAT when I was pregnant! They are in style so they don't look maternity, but they stretch nicely over a growing belly. Let me know what you think of the bella band if you get one. I buy almost everything on ebay, so you may want to try there.
I agree with Briana. Actually that is what I used when I was pregnant with my kids. No bella bands that long ago...LOL
Congrats by the way. I just saw you had a blog...
So...I know that I don't know you, and that this is a really old post...but, I had a thought. (First, I found your blog through Libby's, I go to Chesapeake too). I am 14 weeks pregnant now and I LOVE my belly band. Mine is from babybemine maternity, not the actual bella band, but I love wearing it. I definitely don't need maternity clothes at this point, but some of my more fitted clothes are NOT comfortable at all. It has been a great thing to have, and has kept me from ONLY wearing sweats.
